1 When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.
2 And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
3 He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I will do it. Be made clean.” His leprosy was cleansed immediately. And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
5 When he entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.

But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9 For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
11 I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven, I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 but the children of the kingdom will be driven out into the outer darkness, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.” while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
13 And Jesus said to the centurion, “You may go; as you have believed, let it be done for you.” And at that very hour [his] servant was healed. And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
14 Jesus entered the house of Peter, and saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.
15 He touched her hand, the fever left her, and she rose and waited on him. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
16 When it was evening, they brought him many who were possessed by demons, and he drove out the spirits by a word and cured all the sick, That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 21 Another of [his] disciples said to him, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
22 But Jesus answered him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.” And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.” But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
23 He got into a boat and his disciples followed him. And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
24 Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by waves; but he was asleep. 26 He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm. And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and said, “What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?” And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?” The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
28 When he came to the other side, to the territory of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him. They were so savage that no one could travel by that road. And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.
29 They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?” And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”
30 Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding. Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them. Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.
31 The demons pleaded with him, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.” And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.” The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 And he said to them, “Go then!” They came out and entered the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea where they drowned. And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters. He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
33 The swineherds ran away, and when they came to the town they reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs. The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the demon-possessed men. Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
34 Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district. And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region. Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
