“Listen to another parable: There was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower. He leased it to tenant farmers and went away. “Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went into another country. “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.
When the time came to harvest fruit, he sent his servants to the farmers to collect his fruit. When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit. When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
Again, he sent other servants, more than the first group, and they did the same to them. Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way.
Finally, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
“But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’ But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’ “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’
So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers? ” When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
“He will completely destroy those terrible men,” they told him, “and lease his vineyard to other farmers who will give him his fruit at the harvest.” They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.” “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is what the Lord has done and it is wonderful in our eyes? Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “’The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit. Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits. “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will shatter him.” And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.” Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew he was speaking about them. When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them.
Although they were looking for a way to arrest him, they feared the crowds, because the people regarded him as a prophet. And although they were seeking to arrest him, they feared the crowds, because they held him to be a prophet. They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.
