19 Ἀπεκρίνατο οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν οὐ δύναται ὁ Υἱὸς ποιεῖν ἀφ’ ἑαυτοῦ οὐδὲν ἐὰν* μή τι βλέπῃ τὸν Πατέρα ποιοῦντα ἃ γὰρ ἂν ἐκεῖνος ποιῇ ταῦτα καὶ ὁ Υἱὸς ὁμοίως ποιεῖ So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
20 ὁ γὰρ Πατὴρ φιλεῖ τὸν Υἱὸν καὶ πάντα δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ ἃ αὐτὸς ποιεῖ καὶ μείζονα τούτων δείξει αὐτῷ ἔργα ἵνα ὑμεῖς θαυμάζητε For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
