25 Ἦν δὲ Σίμων Πέτρος ἑστὼς καὶ θερμαινόμενος εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ Μὴ καὶ σὺ ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ εἶ Ἠρνήσατο ἐκεῖνος καὶ εἶπεν Οὐκ εἰμί Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, “You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.” Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying, “I am not.”
26 Λέγει εἷς ἐκ τῶν δούλων τοῦ ἀρχιερέως συγγενὴς ὢν οὗ ἀπέκοψεν Πέτρος τὸ ὠτίον Οὐκ ἐγώ σε εἶδον ἐν τῷ κήπῳ μετ’ αὐτοῦ One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Did I not see you in the garden with him?” One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”
27 Πάλιν οὖν ἠρνήσατο Πέτρος καὶ εὐθέως ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησεν Peter again denied it, and at once a rooster crowed. Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.
