Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
“How long will you say such things? Your words are a blustering wind. “How long will you go on saying such things? The words of your mouth are a blustering wind. “How long will you say these things, and the words of your mouth be a great wind?
Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right? Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right? Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?
When your children sinned against him, he gave them over to the penalty of their sin. When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion. If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their transgression.
But if you will seek God earnestly and plead with the Almighty, But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy, If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy,
if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state. if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate. if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation.
Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be. Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish. And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great.
“Ask the former generation and find out what their ancestors learned, Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers. “For inquire, please, of bygone ages, and consider what the fathers have searched out.
for we were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are but a shadow. For we were born yesterday and know nothing; our days on earth are but a shadow. For we are but of yesterday and know nothing, for our days on earth are a shadow.
Will they not instruct you and tell you? Will they not bring forth words from their understanding? Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding? Will they not teach you and tell you and utter words out of their understanding?
Can papyrus grow tall where there is no marsh? Can reeds thrive without water? Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Do reeds flourish without water? “Can papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Can reeds flourish where there is no water?
While still growing and uncut, they wither more quickly than grass. While the shoots are still uncut, they dry up more quickly than grass. While yet in flower and not cut down, they wither before any other plant.
Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless. Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so the hope of the godless will perish. Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless shall perish.
What they trust in is fragile; what they rely on is a spider’s web. His confidence is fragile; his security is in a spider’s web. His confidence is severed, and his trust is a spider’s web.
They lean on the web, but it gives way; they cling to it, but it does not hold. He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure. He leans against his house, but it does not stand; he lays hold of it, but it does not endure.
They are like a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden; He is a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden. He is a lush plant before the sun, and his shoots spread over his garden.
it entwines its roots around a pile of rocks and looks for a place among the stones. His roots wrap around the rock heap; he looks for a home among the stones. His roots entwine the stone heap; he looks upon a house of stones.
But when it is torn from its spot, that place disowns it and says, ‘I never saw you.’ If he is uprooted from his place, it will disown him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’ If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’
Surely its life withers away, and from the soil other plants grow. Surely this is the joy of his way; yet others will spring from the dust. Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the soil others will spring.
“Surely God does not reject one who is blameless or strengthen the hands of evildoers. Behold, God does not reject the blameless, nor will He strengthen the hand of evildoers. “Behold, God will not reject a blameless man, nor take the hand of evildoers.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with a shout of joy. He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tents of the wicked will be no more.” Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.” Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
