1 “Sing out, O barren woman, who has not given birth! Break forth in song and cry aloud, one not having travailed! Because more are the sons of the desolate woman than the sons of the married woman,” says YHWH. “Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the LORD. “Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings! Do not hold back! 10 For the mountains may depart and the hills may be shaken, and My loving devotion will not depart from you, and the covenant of My peace will not be shaken off,” says YHWH, the One having compassion on you. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
11 “O afflicted one, tossed with tempest, not comforted! 14 In righteousness you will be established. You will be far away from oppression—for you will not fear, and from terror—for it will not come near to you. 15 Behold, the stranger who stirs up trouble—not from Me—who stirs up trouble against you, he will fall before you. If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you. If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you.
16 Behold, I myself have created the craftsman, blowing on the fire of the coals and bringing out the tool for his work—and also I have created the destroyer to destroy. Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy; “See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;
17 Every weapon formed against you will not prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you will prove wiched. This is the inheritance of the servants of YHWH, and their righteousness is from Me!—” A declaration of YHWH. no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.” no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.
