| 2 | “Speak to the sons of Israel, and they take a raised-offering for Me; you take My raised-offering from every man whose heart impels him. | “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. | “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give. | |
| 3 | And this [is] the raised-offering which you take from them: gold, and silver, and bronze, | And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, | These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; | |
| 4 | and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and linen, and goats’ [hair], | blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair, | blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; | |
| 5 | and rams’ skins made red, and tachashim skins, and shittim wood, | tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood, | ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood; | |
| 6 | oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil, and for the incense of the spices, | oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, | olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; | |
| 7 | shoham stones, and stones for setting for an ephod, and for a breastplate. | onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. | and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. | |
| 8 | And they have made a sanctuary for Me, and I have dwelt in their midst; | And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. | “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. | |
| 9 | according to all that which I am showing you, the pattern of the Dwelling Place, and the pattern of all its vessels, even so you make [it]. | Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it. | Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. | |
| 10 | And they have made an ark of shittim wood; two cubits and a half its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height; | “They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. | “Have them make an ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. | |
| 11 | and you have overlaid it [with] pure gold, you overlay it inside and outside, and you have made a ring of gold on it all around. | You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it. | Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. | |
| 12 | And you have cast four rings of gold for it, and have put [them] on its four feet, even two rings on its one side, and two rings on its second side; | You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. | Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. | |
| 13 | and you have made poles of shittim wood, and have overlaid them [with] gold, | You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. | Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. | |
| 14 | and have brought the poles into the rings on the sides of the Ark, to carry the Ark by them; | And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them. | Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it. | |
| 15 | the poles are in the rings of the Ark, they are not turned aside from it; | The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. | The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. | |
| 16 | and you have put the Testimony which I give to you into the Ark. | And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you. | Then put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law, which I will give you. | |
| 17 | And you have made a propitiatory covering of pure gold, two cubits and a half its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth; | “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. | “Make an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. | |
| 18 | and you have made two cherubim of gold; you make them beaten work at the two ends of the propitiatory covering; | And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. | And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. | |
| 19 | and make one cherub at the end on this [side] and one cherub at the end on that [side]; at the propitiatory covering you make the cherubim on its two ends. | Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. | Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. | |
| 20 | And the cherubim have been spreading out wings on high, covering over the propitiatory covering with their wings, and their faces [are] toward one another—the faces of the cherubim are toward the propitiatory covering. | The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. | The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. | |
| 21 | And you have put the propitiatory covering on the Ark above, and you put the Testimony which I give to you into the Ark; | And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. | Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you. | |
| 22 | and I have met with you there, and have spoken with you from off the propitiatory covering (from between the two cherubim, which [are] on the Ark of the Testimony) all that which I command you concerning the sons of Israel. | There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel. | There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. | |
| 23 | And you have made a table of shittim wood, two cubits its length, and a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height, | “You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. | “Make a table of acacia wood—two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. | |
| 24 | and have overlaid it [with] pure gold, and have made a crown of gold for it all around, | You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it. | Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. | |
| 25 | and have made a border of a handbreadth for it all around, and have made a crown of gold for its border all around. | And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim. | Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. | |
| 26 | And you have made four rings of gold for it, and have put the rings on the four corners, which [are] at its four feet; | And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs. | Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. | |
| 27 | close by the border are the rings for places for poles to carry the table; | Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table. | The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. | |
| 28 | and you have made the poles of shittim wood, and have overlaid them with gold, and the table has been carried with them; | You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these. | Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. | |
| 29 | and you have made its dishes, and its bowls, and its covers, and its cups, with which they pour out; you make them of pure gold; | And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. | And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. | |
| 30 | and you have put Bread of the Presentation on the table before Me continually. | And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly. | Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times. | |
| 31 | And you have made a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand is made of beaten work; its base, and its branch, its calyxes, its knobs, and its flowers are of the same; | “You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. | “Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them. | |
| 32 | and six branches are coming out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of the first side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the second side; | And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it; | Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other. | |
| 33 | three calyxes made like almonds in one branch, a knob and a flower, and three calyxes made like almonds in one branch, a knob and a flower—so for the six branches which are coming out from the lampstand. | three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand. | Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. | |
| 34 | And in the lampstand [are] four calyxes made like almonds, its knobs and its flowers; | And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers, | And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. | |
| 35 | and a knob under two branches of the same, and a knob under two branches of the same, and a knob under two branches of the same, for the six branches which are coming out of the lampstand; | and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand. | One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair—six branches in all. | |
| 36 | their knobs and their branches are of the same, all of it one beaten work of pure gold; | Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold. | The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. | |
| 37 | and you have made its seven lamps, and [one] has caused its lamps to go up, and it has given light over [and] beyond its front. | You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it. | “Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. | |
| 38 | And its snuffers and its snuff dishes [are] of pure gold; | Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold. | Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. | |
| 39 | he makes it of a talent of pure gold, with all these vessels. | It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold. | A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. | |
| 40 | Now see and make [them] by their pattern which you are shown on the mountain.” | And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain. | See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. | |
