1	Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,	The LORD said to Moses,	The LORD said to Moses,
2	“Tell the children of Israel to take an offering for Me. From every man whose heart moves him [to give willingly] you shall take My offering.	“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.	“Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.
3	This is the offering you are to receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,	And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,	These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze;
4	blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, fine twisted linen, goats’ hair,	blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair,	blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;
5	rams’ skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood,	tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood,	ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood;
6	[olive] oil for lighting, balsam for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,	oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,	olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
7	onyx stones and setting stones for the [priest’s] ephod and for the breastpiece.	onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.	and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
8	Have them build a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.	And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.	“Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.
9	You shall construct it in accordance with everything that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture.	Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.	Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.
10	“They shall make an ark of acacia wood two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.	“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.	“Have them make an ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.
11	You shall overlay the ark with pure gold, overlay it inside and out, and you shall make a gold border (frame) around its top.	You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it.	Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.
12	You shall cast four gold rings for it and attach them to the four feet, two rings on either side.	You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.	Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other.
13	You shall make [carrying] poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold,	You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.	Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
14	and put the poles through the rings on the sides of the ark, by which to carry it.	And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.	Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.
15	The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it [so that the ark itself need not be touched].	The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.	The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed.
16	You shall put into the ark the Testimony (Ten Commandments) which I will give you.	And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you.	Then put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law, which I will give you.
17	“You shall make a mercy seat (cover) of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.	“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.	“Make an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
18	You shall make two cherubim (winged angelic figures) of [solid] hammered gold at the two ends of the mercy seat.	And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.	And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.
19	Make one cherub at each end, making the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at its two ends.	Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends.	Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends.
20	The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing each other. The faces of the cherubim are to be looking downward toward the mercy seat.	The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.	The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover.
21	You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony which I will give you.	And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.	Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.
22	There I will meet with you; from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, I will speak [intimately] with you regarding every commandment that I will give you for the Israelites.	There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.	There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
23	“You shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high.	“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.	“Make a table of acacia wood—two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high.
24	You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a border of gold around the top of it.	You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.	Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it.
25	You shall make a rim of a hand width around it; you shall make a gold border for the rim around it.	And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.	Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim.
26	You shall make four gold rings for it and fasten them at the four corners that are on the table’s four legs.	And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.	Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.
27	The rings shall be close against the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table.	Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table.	The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.
28	You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.	You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.	Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them.
29	You shall make its plates [for the showbread] and its cups [for incense] and its pitchers and bowls for sacrificial drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.	And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.	And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.
30	You shall set the bread of the Presence (showbread) on the table before Me at all times.	And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.	Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.
31	“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand and its base and its shaft shall be made of hammered work; its cups, its calyxes and its flowers shall be all of one piece with it.	“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.	“Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.
32	Six branches shall come out of its sides; three branches of the lampstand out of the one side and three branches of the lampstand out of its other side [the shaft being the seventh branch].	And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;	Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.
33	Three cups shall be made like almond blossoms, each with a calyx and a flower on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms on the other branch with a calyx and a flower—so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand;	three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.	Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.
34	and in the [center shaft of the] lampstand [you shall make] four cups shaped like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and their flowers.	And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,	And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.
35	A calyx shall be under the first pair of branches coming out of it, and a calyx under the second pair of branches coming out of it, and a calyx under the third pair of branches coming out of it, for the six branches coming out of the lampstand.	and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.	One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair—six branches in all.
36	Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it; all of it shall be one piece of hammered work of pure gold.	Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.	The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.
37	Then you shall make the lamps [of the lampstand] seven in number [with one lamp at the top of the shaft]. The priests shall set up its seven lamps so that they will light the space in front of it.	You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it.	“Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.
38	Its snuffers and their trays shall be of pure gold.	Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.	Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.
39	It shall be made from a talent (50-80 lbs.) of pure gold, including all these utensils.	It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold.	A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.
40	See that you make them [exactly] after their pattern which was shown to you on the mountain.	And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.	See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
