1 And it came to passe in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Iewes, & so spake, that a great multitude both of the Iewes, & also of the Grekes beleued. Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed. At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed.
2 But the vnbeleuyng Iewes, stirred vp, and corrupted the myndes of the Gentiles agaynst the brethren. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.
3 Long tyme therfore abode they there, and quyt them selues boldely, with the helpe of the Lorde, which gaue testimonie vnto the worde of his grace, and graunted signes & wonders to be done by their handes. So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.
4 But the multitude of the citie was deuided: and part helde with the Iewes, and part with the Apostles. But the people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews and some with the apostles. The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles.

9 The same hearde Paul speake: which beholdyng hym, and perceauyng that he had sayth to be whole, He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well, He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed
10 Sayde with a loude voyce: stande vpryght on thy feete. And he start vp, and walked. said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he sprang up and began walking. and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lyft vp their voyces, saying in the speache of Lycaonia: Gods are come downe to vs in the lykenesse of men. And when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in Lycaonian, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”
12 And they called Barnabas Iupiter, and Paul Mercurius, because he was the chiefe speaker. Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker.
13 Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought oxen and garlandes vnto the doore, and woulde haue done sacrifice with the people. And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds. The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
14 Which when the Apostles, Barnabas & Paul heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying, But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out, But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting:
15 And saying: Sirs, why do ye these thynges? We are mortall men lyke vnto you, and preach vnto you, that ye shoulde turne from these vanities, vnto the lyuyng God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all thynges that are therin. “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them. “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.
16 The which in tymes past suffred all nations to walke in their owne wayes. In past generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways. In the past, he let all nations go their own way.
17 Neuerthelesse, he left not hym selfe without witnesse, in that he shewed his benefites from heauen, in geuyng vs rayne and fruitefull seasons, fillyng our heartes with foode and gladnesse. Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.” Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”
18 And with these sayinges, scarce refrayned they the people, that they had not done sacrifice vnto them. Even with these words they scarcely restrained the people from offering sacrifice to them. Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.
19 Then thyther came certayne Iewes from Antioche and Iconium: which, whe they had perswaded the people, and had stoned Paule, drewe hym out of the citie, supposyng he had ben dead. But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead.
20 Howbeit, as the disciples stoode round about hym, he arose vp, and came into the citie: And the next day, he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. But when the disciples gathered about him, he rose up and entered the city, and on the next day he went on with Barnabas to Derbe. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
21 And when they had preached to that citie, and had taught many, they returned agayne to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioche, When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch,
22 And strengthed the disciples soules agayne, and exhorted them to continue in the fayth, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kyngdome of God. strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.
23 And when they had ordeyned them elders by election in euery Churche, and had prayed, with fastyng, they commended them to the Lorde, on whom they beleued. And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed. Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.
24 And when they had gone throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia, Then they passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia,
25 And when they had spoken the worde in Perga, they descended into Attalia, And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia, and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 And thence departed by shippe to Antioche, from whence they were committed vnto the grace of God, to the worke which they fulfylled. and from there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed.
27 And when they were come, and had gathered the Churche together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, & howe he had opened the doore of fayth vnto the gentiles. And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.
28 And there they abode long tyme with the disciples. And they remained no little time with the disciples. And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.
