1	וַיִּוָּעַ֣ץ דָּוִ֗יד עִם־ שָׂרֵ֧י הָאֲלָפִ֛ים וְהַמֵּא֖וֹת לְכָל־ נָגִֽיד׃	David consulted with the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with every leader.	David conferred with each of his officers, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds.
2	וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜יד לְכֹ֣ל ׀ קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־ עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם ט֜וֹב וּמִן־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ נִפְרְצָה֙ נִשְׁלְחָ֞ה עַל־ אַחֵ֣ינוּ הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֗ים בְּכֹל֙ אַרְצ֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעִמָּהֶ֛ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם בְּעָרֵ֣י מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם וְיִקָּבְצ֖וּ אֵלֵֽינוּ׃	And David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you and from the LORD our God, let us send abroad to our brothers who remain in all the lands of Israel, as well as to the priests and Levites in the cities that have pasturelands, that they may be gathered to us.	He then said to the whole assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you and if it is the will of the LORD our God, let us send word far and wide to the rest of our people throughout the territories of Israel, and also to the priests and Levites who are with them in their towns and pasturelands, to come and join us.
3	וְנָסֵ֛בָּה אֶת־ אֲר֥וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ כִּי־ לֹ֥א דְרַשְׁנֻ֖הוּ בִּימֵ֥י שָׁאֽוּל׃	Then let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Saul.”	Let us bring the ark of our God back to us, for we did not inquire of it during the reign of Saul.”
4	וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ כָֽל־ הַקָּהָ֖ל לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֑ן כִּֽי־ יָשַׁ֥ר הַדָּבָ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י כָל־ הָעָֽם׃	All the assembly agreed to do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.	The whole assembly agreed to do this, because it seemed right to all the people.
5	וַיַּקְהֵ֤ל דָּוִיד֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִן־ שִׁיח֥וֹר מִצְרַ֖יִם וְעַד־ לְב֣וֹא חֲמָ֑ת לְהָבִיא֙ אֶת־ אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים מִקִּרְיַ֖ת יְעָרִֽים׃	So David assembled all Israel from the Nile of Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.	So David assembled all Israel, from the Shihor River in Egypt to Lebo Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
6	וַיַּ֨עַל דָּוִ֤יד וְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בַּעֲלָ֔תָה אֶל־ קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִיהוּדָ֑ה לְהַעֲל֣וֹת מִשָּׁ֗ם אֵת֩ אֲר֨וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ יְהוָ֛ה יוֹשֵׁ֥ב הַכְּרוּבִ֖ים אֲשֶׁר־ נִקְרָ֥א שֵֽׁם׃	And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim that belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD who sits enthroned above the cherubim.	David and all Israel went to Baalah of Judah (Kiriath Jearim) to bring up from there the ark of God the LORD, who is enthroned between the cherubim—the ark that is called by the Name.
7	וַיַּרְכִּ֜יבוּ אֶת־ אֲר֤וֹן הָאֱלֹהִים֙ עַל־ עֲגָלָ֣ה חֲדָשָׁ֔ה מִבֵּ֖ית אֲבִינָדָ֑ב וְעֻזָּ֣א וְאַחְי֔וֹ נֹהֲגִ֖ים בָּעֲגָלָֽה׃	And they carried the ark of God on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and Uzzah and Ahio were driving the cart.	They moved the ark of God from Abinadab’s house on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding it.
8	וְדָוִ֣יד וְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מְשַׂחֲקִ֛ים לִפְנֵ֥י הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּכָל־ עֹ֑ז וּבְשִׁירִ֤ים וּבְכִנֹּרוֹת֙ וּבִנְבָלִ֣ים וּבְתֻפִּ֔ים וּבִמְצִלְתַּ֖יִם וּבַחֲצֹצְרֽוֹת׃	And David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.	David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God, with songs and with harps, lyres, timbrels, cymbals and trumpets.
