New Living Translation | Christian Standard Bible |
Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. | 1LORD, hear my prayer. In your faithfulness listen to my plea, and in your righteousness answer me. |
Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. | 2Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous in your sight. |
My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. | 3For the enemy has pursued me, crushing me to the ground, making me live in darkness like those long dead. |
I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. | 4My spirit is weak within me; my heart is overcome with dismay. |
I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. | 5I remember the days of old; I meditate on all you have done; I reflect on the work of your hands. |
I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude | 6I spread out my hands to you; I am like parched land before you. Selah |
Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die. | 7Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Don't hide your face from me, or I will be like those going down to the Pit. |
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. | 8Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you. Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you. |
Rescue me from my enemies, LORD; I run to you to hide me. | 9Rescue me from my enemies, LORD; I come to you for protection. |
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. | 10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me on level ground. |
For the glory of your name, O LORD, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress. | 11For your name's sake, LORD, let me live. In your righteousness deliver me from trouble, |
In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am your servant. | 12and in your faithful love destroy my enemies. Wipe out all those who attack me, for I am your servant. |
