New King James VersionNET Bible
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;1A psalm; a song for the Sabbath day. It is fitting to thank the LORD, and to sing praises to your name, O sovereign One!
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,2It is fitting to proclaim your loyal love in the morning, and your faithfulness during the night,
On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound.3to the accompaniment of a ten-stringed instrument and a lyre, to the accompaniment of the meditative tone of the harp.
For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.4For you, O LORD, have made me happy by your work. I will sing for joy because of what you have done.
O LORD, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.5How great are your works, O LORD! Your plans are very intricate!
A senseless man does not know, Nor does a fool understand this.6The spiritually insensitive do not recognize this; the fool does not understand this.
When the wicked spring up like grass, And when all the workers of iniquity flourish, It is that they may be destroyed forever.7When the wicked sprout up like grass, and all the evildoers glisten, it is so that they may be annihilated.
But You, LORD, are on high forevermore.8But you, O LORD, reign forever!
For behold, Your enemies, O LORD, For behold, Your enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.9Indeed, look at your enemies, O LORD! Indeed, look at how your enemies perish! All the evildoers are scattered!
But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.10You exalt my horn like that of a wild ox. I am covered with fresh oil.
My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies; My ears hear my desire on the wicked Who rise up against me.11I gloat in triumph over those who tried to ambush me; I hear the defeated cries of the evil foes who attacked me.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.12The godly grow like a palm tree; they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.13Planted in the LORD's house, they grow in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,14They bear fruit even when they are old; they are filled with vitality and have many leaves.
To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.15So they proclaim that the LORD, my protector, is just and never unfair.
