A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;1A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. It is good to praise the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High,
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,2to proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning and Your faithfulness at night
On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound.3with the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre.
For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.4For You, O LORD, have made me glad by Your deeds; I sing for joy at the works of Your hands.
O LORD, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.5How great are Your works, O LORD, how deep are Your thoughts!
A senseless man does not know, Nor does a fool understand this.6A senseless man does not know, and a fool does not understand,
When the wicked spring up like grass, And when all the workers of iniquity flourish, It is that they may be destroyed forever.7that though the wicked sprout like grass, and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed.
But You, LORD, are on high forevermore.8But You, O LORD, are exalted forever!
For behold, Your enemies, O LORD, For behold, Your enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.9For surely Your enemies, O LORD, surely Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.10But You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; with fine oil I have been anointed.
My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies; My ears hear my desire on the wicked Who rise up against me.11My eyes see the downfall of my enemies; my ears hear the wailing of my wicked foes.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.12The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.13Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,14In old age they will still bear fruit; healthy and green they will remain,
To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.15to proclaim, “The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and in Him there is no unrighteousness.”
