To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.2For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.3The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.4He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.5Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.6Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.7How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.9For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.10O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.11Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
There the workers of iniquity have fallen; They have been cast down and are not able to rise.12There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
