To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.1For the choir director. A psalm of David, the LORD's servant. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked person: There is no dread of God before his eyes,
For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.2for in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to discover and hate his sin.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.3The words of his mouth are malicious and deceptive; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good.
He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.4Even on his bed he makes malicious plans. He sets himself on a path that is not good and does not reject evil.
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.5 LORD, Your faithful love reaches to heaven, Your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.6Your righteousness is like the highest mountains; Your judgments, like the deepest sea. LORD, You preserve man and beast.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.7God, Your faithful love is so valuable that people take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.8They are filled from the abundance of Your house; You let them drink from Your refreshing stream,
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.9for with You is life's fountain. In Your light we will see light.
Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.10Spread Your faithful love over those who know You, and Your righteousness over the upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.11Do not let the foot of the arrogant man come near me or the hand of the wicked one drive me away.
There the workers of iniquity have fallen; They have been cast down and are not able to rise.12There the evildoers fall; they have been thrown down and cannot rise.
