Hebrews 13
NKJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
Let brotherly love continue.1Let brotherly love continue.
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.3Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.4Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”5Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”6So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.7Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.9Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.10We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.11For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.12So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.13Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.
For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.14For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.15Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.16Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.
But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.19I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,20Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,
make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.21equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.22I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.23You should know that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom I shall see you if he comes soon.
Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.24Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who come from Italy send you greetings.
Grace be with you all. Amen.25Grace be with all of you.
