A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” | 1This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." |
The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! | 2The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies. |
Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth. | 3Your people will volunteer on your day of battle. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you. |
The LORD has sworn And will not relent, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” | 4The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back: "You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek." |
The Lord is at Your right hand; He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath. | 5The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his anger. |
He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall execute the heads of many countries. | 6He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; he will crush leaders over the entire world. |
He shall drink of the brook by the wayside; Therefore He shall lift up the head. | 7He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore, he will lift up his head. |
