| 1A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. | 1Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. |

| 3The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. | 3My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. |
