Psalm 143
NIV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionInternational Standard Version
A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.1LORD, hear my prayer; pay attention to my request, because you are faithful; answer me in your righteousness.
Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you.2Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no living person is righteous in your sight.
The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead.3For those who oppose me are pursuing my life, crushing me to the ground, making me sit in darkness like those who died long ago.
So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.4As a result, my spirit is desolate within me, and my mind within me is appalled.
I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.5I remember the former times, meditating on everything you have done. I think about the work of your hands.
I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.6I stretch out my hands toward you, longing for you like a parched land. Interlude
Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.7Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit is failing. Do not hide your face from me; otherwise, I will become like those who descend to the Pit,
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.8In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you.
Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in you.9Deliver me from my enemies, LORD. I have taken refuge in you.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
For your name's sake, LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.11For the sake of your name, LORD, preserve my life. Because you are righteous, bring me out of trouble.
In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.12Because of your gracious love, you will cut off my enemies. You will destroy all who oppose me, for I am your servant.
