| 2Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. | 2and listened to me. As long as I live, I will call to him when I need help. |
| 3The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. | 3The ropes of death tightened around me, the snares of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted with trouble and sorrow. |
