Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land--from Gilead to Dan,1Then Moses ascended from the deserts of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the summit of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. The LORD showed him the whole land--Gilead to Dan,
all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,2and all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the distant sea,
the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.3the Negev, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of the date palm trees, as far as Zoar.
Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it."4Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it, but you will not cross over there."
And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said.5So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab as the LORD had said.
He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.6He buried him in the land of Moab near Beth Peor, but no one knows his exact burial place to this very day.
Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.7Moses was 120 years old when he died, but his eye was not dull nor had his vitality departed.
The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.8The Israelites mourned for Moses in the deserts of Moab for thirty days; then the days of mourning for Moses ended.
Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses.9Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had placed his hands on him; and the Israelites listened to him and did just what the LORD had commanded Moses.
Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,10No prophet ever again arose in Israel like Moses, who knew the LORD face to face.
who did all those signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt--to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land.11He did all the signs and wonders the LORD had sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, all his servants, and the whole land,
For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.12and he displayed great power and awesome might in view of all Israel.
