Psalm 135
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD! Offer praise, you servants of the LORD, 1Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD! Give praise, you servants of the LORD,
who serve in the LORD's temple, in the courts of the temple of our God. 2you who are standing in the LORD's Temple, in the courtyards of the house of our God.
Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good! Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant! 3Praise the LORD, because the LORD is good; Sing to his name, for he is gracious.
Indeed, the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel to be his special possession. 4It is Jacob whom the LORD chose for himself— Israel as his personal possession.
Yes, I know the LORD is great, and our Lord is superior to all gods. 5Indeed, I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord surpasses all gods.
He does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths. 6The LORD does whatever pleases him in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all its deep regions.
He causes the clouds to arise from the end of the earth, makes lightning bolts accompany the rain, and brings the wind out of his storehouses. 7He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth, fashioning lightning for the rain, bringing the wind from his storehouses.
He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, including both men and animals. 8It was the LORD who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, including both men and animals.
He performed awesome deeds and acts of judgment in your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. 9He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt, before Pharaoh and all his servants.
He defeated many nations, and killed mighty kings--10He struck down many nations, killing many kings—
Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan. 11Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and every kingdom of Canaan—
He gave their land as an inheritance, as an inheritance to Israel his people. 12and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.
O LORD, your name endures, your reputation, O LORD, lasts. 13Your name, LORD, exists forever, and your reputation, LORD, throughout the ages.
For the LORD vindicates his people, and has compassion on his servants. 14For the LORD will vindicate his people, and he will show compassion on his servants.
The nations' idols are made of silver and gold, they are man-made. 15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, worked by the hands of human beings.
They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see, 16Mouths are attributed to them, but they cannot speak; sight is attributed to them, but they cannot see;
and ears, but cannot hear. Indeed, they cannot breathe. 17ears are attributed to them, but they do not hear, and there is no breath in their mouths.
Those who make them will end up like them, as will everyone who trusts in them. 18Those who craft them— and all who trust in them— will become like them.
O family of Israel, praise the LORD! O family of Aaron, praise the LORD! 19House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD!
O family of Levi, praise the LORD! You loyal followers of the LORD, praise the LORD! 20House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
The LORD deserves praise in Zion--he who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD! 21Blessed be the LORD from Zion, he who lives in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
