| 1For look! In those days and at that time I will return the exiles to Judah and Jerusalem. | 1“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, |
| 2Then I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment against them there concerning my people Israel who are my inheritance, whom they scattered among the nations. They partitioned my land, | 2I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land, |
| 3and they cast lots for my people. They traded a boy for a prostitute; they sold a little girl for wine so they could drink. | 3and have cast lots for my people, and have traded a boy for a prostitute, and have sold a girl for wine and have drunk it. |
| 4Why are you doing these things to me, Tyre and Sidon? Are you trying to get even with me, land of Philistia? I will very quickly repay you for what you have done! | 4“What are you to me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you paying me back for something? If you are paying me back, I will return your payment on your own head swiftly and speedily. |
| 5For you took my silver and my gold and brought my precious valuables to your own palaces. | 5For you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my rich treasures into your temples. |
| 6You sold Judeans and Jerusalemites to the Greeks, removing them far from their own country. | 6You have sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks in order to remove them far from their own border. |
| 7Look! I am rousing them from that place to which you sold them. I will repay you for what you have done! | 7Behold, I will stir them up from the place to which you have sold them, and I will return your payment on your own head. |
| 8I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah. They will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away. | 9Proclaim this among the nations: "Prepare for a holy war! Call out the warriors! Let all these fighting men approach and attack! | 9Proclaim this among the nations: Consecrate for war; stir up the mighty men. Let all the men of war draw near; let them come up. |

| 17You will be convinced that I the LORD am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy--conquering armies will no longer pass through it. | 17“So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. | 18On that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the dry stream beds of Judah will flow with water. A spring will flow out from the temple of the LORD, watering the Valley of Acacia Trees. | 18“And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Shittim. |
| 19Egypt will be desolate and Edom will be a desolate wilderness, because of the violence they did to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood. | 19“Egypt shall become a desolation and Edom a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the people of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. |
| 20But Judah will reside securely forever, and Jerusalem will be secure from one generation to the next. | 20But Judah shall be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem to all generations. |
| 21I will avenge their blood which I had not previously acquitted. It is the LORD who dwells in Zion! | 21I will avenge their blood, blood I have not avenged, for the LORD dwells in Zion.” |
