| 7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. | 7But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. |
| 8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, | 8More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, |

| 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; | 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; |
| 11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. | 11in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. |
| 12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. | 12Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. |
| 13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, | 13Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, |
| 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. | 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. |
| 15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. | 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; |
| 16Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. | 16however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. |
| 17Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. | 17Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. |

| 21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. | 21who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself. |
