Psalm 75
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
1To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.1We praise you, God! We praise you —your presence draws near— as we declare your wonderful deeds.
2When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.2"At the time that I choose I will judge the righteous.
3The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.3While the earth and all its inhabitants melt away, it is I who keep its pillars firm." Interlude
4I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:4I will say to the proud, "Don't brag," and to the wicked, "Don't vaunt your strength.
5Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.5Don't use your strength to fight heaven or speak from stubborn arrogance."
6For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.6For exaltation comes not from the east, the west, or the wilderness,
7But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.7since God is the judge. This one he will debase or that one he will exalt.
8For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.8For there is a cup in the hand of the LORD, foaming with well-mixed wine that he will pour out, leaving only the dregs, from which all the wicked of the earth will drink.
9But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9But as for me, I will declare forever, singing praise to the God of Jacob.
10All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.10I will cut down the strength of the wicked, but the strength of the righteous will be lifted up.
