King James BibleInternational Standard Version
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.1After the Sabbaths, around dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to take a look at the burial site.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.2Suddenly, there was a powerful earthquake, because an angel of the Lord had come down from heaven, approached the stone, rolled it away, and was sitting on top of it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:3His appearance was bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.4Trembling from fear, even the guards themselves became catatonic.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.5Responding to the women, the angel said, "Stop being frightened! I know you're looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.6He is not here. He has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.7Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. He is going ahead of you into Galilee, and you will see him there. Remember, I have told you!"
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.8So they quickly left the tomb, terrified but also ecstatic, and ran to tell Jesus' disciples.
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.9Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.
Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.10Then Jesus told them, "Stop being frightened! Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there."
Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the high priests everything that had happened.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,12So they met with the elders and agreed on a plan to give the soldiers a large amount of money.
Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.13They said, "Say that Jesus' disciples came at night and stole him while you were sleeping.
And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.14If this is reported to the governor, we'll personally persuade him to keep you out of trouble."
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.15So the soldiers took the money, did as they were instructed, and this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.16The eleven disciples went into Galilee to the hillside to which Jesus had directed them.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.17When they saw him, they worshipped him, though some had doubts.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.18Then Jesus approached them and told them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:19Therefore, as you go, disciple people in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.20teaching them to obey everything that I've commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age."
