King James BibleEnglish Standard Version
And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.1Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.2Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate,
Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.3and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth.
For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.4For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.”
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.5And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.
And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.6Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth.
And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.7And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,8Of clean animals, and of animals that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,
There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.9two and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah.
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.10And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.
And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.12And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;13On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark,
They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.14they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature.
And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.15They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life.
And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.16And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the LORD shut him in.
And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.17The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.18The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters.
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.19And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.
Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.20The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep.
And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:21And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind.
All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.22Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died.
And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.23He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.
And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.24And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.
