To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.1For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A song. Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled.
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.2O You who listen to prayer, all people will come to You.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.3When iniquities prevail against me, You atone for our transgressions.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.4Blessed is the one You choose and bring near to dwell in Your courts! We are filled with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:5With awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:6You formed the mountains by Your power, having girded Yourself with might.
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.7You stilled the roaring of the seas, the pounding of their waves, and the tumult of the nations.
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.8Those who live far away fear Your wonders; You make the dawn and sunset shout for joy.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.9You attend to the earth and water it; with abundance You enrich it. The streams of God are full of water, for You prepare our grain by providing for the earth.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.10You soak its furrows and level its ridges; You soften it with showers and bless its growth.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.11You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your paths overflow with plenty.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.12The pastures of the wilderness overflow; the hills are robed with joy.
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.13The pastures are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are decked with grain. They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.
