Psalm 144
HCSB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
Davidic. May the LORD, my rock, be praised, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare. 1Of David. Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him; He subdues my people under me. 2He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.
LORD, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him? 3LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. 4They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.
LORD, part Your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. 5Part your heavens, LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
Flash Your lightning and scatter the foe; shoot Your arrows and rout them. 6Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot your arrows and rout them.
Reach down from heaven; rescue me from deep water, and set me free from the grasp of foreigners 7Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 8whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
God, I will sing a new song to You; I will play on a ten-stringed harp for You-- 9I will sing a new song to you, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
the One who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword. 10to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers his servant David. From the deadly sword
Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 11deliver me; rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style. 12Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all kinds of produce; our flocks will increase by thousands and tens of thousands in our open fields. 13Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;
Our cattle will be well fed. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our public squares. 14our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.
Happy are the people with such blessings. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh. 15Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the LORD.
