Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before Me in this generation.1The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female, 2Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,
and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky--in order to keep offspring alive on the face of the whole earth. 3and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.
Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe off from the face of the earth every living thing I have made." 4Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."
And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him. 5And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
Noah was 600 years old when the flood came and water covered the earth. 6Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.
So Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives entered the ark because of the waters of the flood. 7And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
From the clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and every creature that crawls on the ground, 8Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground,
two of each, male and female, entered the ark with Noah, just as God had commanded him. 9male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.
Seven days later the waters of the flood came on the earth. 10And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the sources of the watery depths burst open, the floodgates of the sky were opened,11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month--on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
and the rain fell on the earth 40 days and 40 nights. 12And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
On that same day Noah along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah's wife, and his three sons' wives entered the ark with him. 13On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.
They entered it with all the wildlife according to their kinds, all livestock according to their kinds, the creatures that crawl on the earth according to their kinds, all birds, every fowl, and everything with wings according to their kinds. 14They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.
Two of all flesh that has the breath of life in it entered the ark with Noah. 15Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.
Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in. 16The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
The flood continued for 40 days on the earth; the waters increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth. 17For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.
The waters surged and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 18The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.
Then the waters surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered. 19They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.
The mountains were covered as the waters surged above them more than 20 feet.20The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits.
Every creature perished--those that crawl on the earth, birds, livestock, wildlife, and those that swarm on the earth, as well as all mankind. 21Every living thing that moved on land perished--birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind.
Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils--everything on dry land died. 22Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
He wiped out every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.23Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
And the waters surged on the earth 150 days. 24The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
