| 1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, restraining the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. | 1After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth. | 9After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. | 13Then one of the elders asked me, "Who are these people robed in white, and where did they come from?" | 13"Who are these people wearing white robes," one of the elders asked me, "and where did they come from?" |
| 14I said to him, "Sir, you know." Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. | 14I told him, "Sir, you know." Then he told me, "These are the people who are coming out of the terrible suffering. | 15For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. The One seated on the throne will shelter them: | 15That is why: "They are in front of the throne of God and worship him night and day in his Temple. The one who sits on the throne will shelter them. |
| 16They will no longer hunger; they will no longer thirst; the sun will no longer strike them, nor will any heat. | 16They will never be hungry or thirsty again. Neither the sun nor its heat will ever beat down on them, |
| 17For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; He will guide them to springs of living waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. | 17because the lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd.
