Psalm 30
HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic. I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. 1I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. 2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; You spared me from among those going down to the Pit. 3O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name. 4Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning. 5For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
When I was secure, I said," I will never be shaken." 6As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
LORD, when You showed Your favor, You made me stand like a strong mountain; when You hid Your face, I was terrified. 7By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.
LORD, I called to You; I sought favor from my Lord:" 8To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth? 9“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
LORD, listen and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper." 10Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”
You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, 11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
so that I can sing to You and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever. 12that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
