Psalm 6
ESV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible
1O LORD, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath.1For the choir director; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string lyre. A Psalm of David. O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
2Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled.2Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are dismayed.
3My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD—how long?3And my soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O LORD-- how long?
4Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love.4Return, O LORD, rescue my soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
5For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise?5For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks?
6I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping.6I am weary with my sighing; Every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my tears.
7My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows weak because of all my foes.7My eye has wasted away with grief; It has become old because of all my adversaries.
8Depart from me, all you workers of evil, for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping.8Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.
9The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD accepts my prayer.9The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer.
10All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.10All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed.
