Psalm 5
ESV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning.1For the choir director; for flute accompaniment. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning.
Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray.2Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.
O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.3In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you.4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You.
The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.5The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity.
You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.6You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.
But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.7But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.8O LORD, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.9There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself. Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue.
Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you.10Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You.
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.11But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You.
For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.12For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.
