English Standard VersionKing James Bible
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.1To the chief Musician upon ShoshannimEduth, A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us!2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.
Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved!3Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?4O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure.5Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.6Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved!7Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.8Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land.9Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.10The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River.11She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?12Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it.13The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,14Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.15And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face!16It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!17Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name!18So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
Restore us, O LORD God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved!19Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
