1“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. | 1"Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. |
2In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? | 2In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. |
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. | 3If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. |

5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” | 5Lord," Thomas said, "we don't know where You're going. How can we know the way?" |

11Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. | 11Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves. |
12“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. | 12"I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. |
13Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | 13Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |

17even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. | 17He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn't see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you. |
18“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. | 18I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. |
19Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. | 19"In a little while the world will see Me no longer, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live too. |

21Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. 23Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. | 23Jesus answered, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. |
24Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. | 24The one who doesn't love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me. |
25“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. | 25"I have spoken these things to you while I remain with you. |
26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. | 26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit--the Father will send Him in My name--will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you. |
27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. | 27"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful. |
28You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. | 28You have heard Me tell you, I am going away and I am coming to you.' If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. |
29And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. | 29I have told you now before it happens so that when it does happen you may believe. |
30I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, | 30I will not talk with you much longer, because the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over Me. |
31but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. | 31On the contrary, I am going away so that the world may know that I love the Father. Just as the Father commanded Me, so I do. "Get up; let's leave this place. |
