Rejoice in the LORD, O righteous ones; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.1Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful.
Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him with ten strings.2Praise the LORD with the lyre; make music to Him with a ten-stringed harp.
Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.3Sing a new song to Him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.
For the word of the LORD is upright, and all His work is trustworthy.4For the word of the LORD is right, and all His work is trustworthy.
The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His loving devotion.5He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the LORD's unfailing love.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth.6The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all the stars, by the breath of His mouth.
He piles up the waters of the sea; He puts the depths into storehouses.7He gathers the waters of the sea into a heap; He puts the depths into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere Him.8Let the whole earth tremble before the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.9For He spoke, and it came into being; He commanded, and it came into existence.
The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations; He thwarts the devices of the peoples.10The LORD frustrates the counsel of the nations; He thwarts the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the purposes of His heart to all generations.11The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance!12Happy is the nation whose God is Yahweh-- the people He has chosen to be His own possession!
The LORD looks down from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.13The LORD looks down from heaven; He observes everyone.
From His dwelling place He gazes on all who inhabit the earth.14He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earth from His dwelling place.
He shapes the hearts of each; He considers all their works.15He alone shapes their hearts; He considers all their works.
No king is saved by his vast army; no warrior is delivered by his great strength.16A king is not saved by a large army; a warrior will not be delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for salvation; even its great strength cannot save.17The horse is a false hope for safety; it provides no escape by its great power.
Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion18Now the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him-- those who depend on His faithful love
to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.19to deliver them from death and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.20We wait for Yahweh; He is our help and shield.
For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name.21For our hearts rejoice in Him because we trust in His holy name.
May Your loving devotion rest on us, O LORD, as we put our hope in You.22May Your faithful love rest on us, Yahweh, for we put our hope in You.
