Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
Chapter Outline

He assures them of the certainty of Christ's coming to judgment;

warning the godly, for the long patience of God, to hasten their repentance.

He describes also the manner how the world shall be destroyed;

exhorting them to all holiness of life;

and again to think the patience of God to tend to their salvation, as Paul wrote to them in his epistles.
