You Are My Refuge and My Fortress
יֹ֭שֵׁב (The one sitting) בְּסֵ֣תֶר (in the secret place) עֶלְי֑וֹן (of the Most High)
בְּצֵ֥ל (in the shade) שַׁ֝דַּ֗י (of Shaddai) יִתְלוֹנָֽן׃ (he will abide).
2 אֹמַ֗ר (I will say) לַֽ֭יהוָה (of YHWH): מַחְסִ֣י (My refuge) וּמְצוּדָתִ֑י (and my stronghold),
אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י (My God), אֶבְטַח־ (I trust) בּֽוֹ׃ (in Him).
3 כִּ֤י (Surely) ה֣וּא (He) יַ֭צִּֽילְךָ (will snatch you)
מִפַּ֥ח (from the snare) יָק֗וּשׁ (of the trapper),
מִדֶּ֥בֶר (from the plague) הַוּֽוֹת׃ (of calamity).
4 בְּאֶבְרָת֨וֹ׀ (With His pinions) יָ֣סֶךְ (He will give cover) לָ֭ךְ (for you),
וְתַֽחַת־ (and under) כְּנָפָ֣יו (His wings) תֶּחְסֶ֑ה (you will take refuge);
צִנָּ֖ה (a shield) וְֽסֹחֵרָ֣ה (and buckler) אֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ (is His faithfulness).
5 לֹא־ (Not) תִ֭ירָא (you shall be afraid) מִפַּ֣חַד (of the terror) לָ֑יְלָה (of the night),
מֵ֝חֵ֗ץ (or of the arrow) יָע֥וּף (that flies) יוֹמָֽם׃ (by day),
6 מִ֭דֶּבֶר (from the plague) בָּאֹ֣פֶל (in the darkness) יַהֲלֹ֑ךְ (that walks),
מִ֝קֶּ֗טֶב (or from the pestilence) יָשׁ֥וּד (that destroys) צָהֳרָֽיִם׃ (at noon).
7 יִפֹּ֤ל (May fall) מִצִּדְּךָ֨׀ (at your side) אֶ֗לֶף (a thousand),
וּרְבָבָ֥ה (and a multitude) מִימִינֶ֑ךָ (at your right hand)—
אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ (to you) לֹ֣א (not) יִגָּֽשׁ׃ (shall it draw near).
8 רַ֭ק (But) בְּעֵינֶ֣יךָ (with your eyes) תַבִּ֑יט (you shall look)
וְשִׁלֻּמַ֖ת (the reward) רְשָׁעִ֣ים (of the wicked) תִּרְאֶֽה׃ (you shall see).
9 כִּֽי־ (Because) אַתָּ֣ה (You) יְהוָ֣ה (O YHWH)— מַחְסִ֑י (are my refuge),
עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן (the Most High)— שַׂ֣מְתָּ (you have made) מְעוֹנֶֽךָ׃ (your dwelling place),
10 לֹֽא־ (not) תְאֻנֶּ֣ה (shall meet) אֵלֶ֣יךָ (with you) רָעָ֑ה (evil),
וְ֝נֶ֗גַע (and plague) לֹא־ (not) יִקְרַ֥ב (shall come near) בְּאָהֳלֶֽךָ׃ (by your tent).
11 כִּ֣י (For) מַ֭לְאָכָיו (His angels) יְצַוֶּה־ (He will command) לָּ֑ךְ (concerning you)
לִ֝שְׁמָרְךָ֗ (to guard you) בְּכָל־ (in all) דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ (your ways).
12 עַל־ (Upon) כַּפַּ֥יִם (the hands) יִשָּׂא֑וּנְךָ (they shall lift you up),
פֶּן־ (lest) תִּגֹּ֖ף (you strike) בָּאֶ֣בֶן (against a stone) רַגְלֶֽךָ׃ (your foot).
13 עַל־ (Upon) שַׁ֣חַל (the lion) וָפֶ֣תֶן (and cobra) תִּדְרֹ֑ךְ (you will tread);
תִּרְמֹ֖ס (you will trample) כְּפִ֣יר (the young lion) וְתַנִּֽין׃ (and the serpent).
14 כִּ֤י (Because) בִ֣י (in Me) חָ֭שַׁק (he has delighted) וַאֲפַלְּטֵ֑הוּ (so will I rescue him).
אֲ֝שַׂגְּבֵ֗הוּ (I will set him up high) כִּֽי־ (because) יָדַ֥ע (he has known) שְׁמִֽי׃ (My name).
15 יִקְרָאֵ֨נִי׀ (He will call on Me)
וְֽאֶעֱנֵ֗הוּ (and I will answer him)
עִמּֽוֹ־ (with him) אָנֹכִ֥י (I am) בְצָרָ֑ה (in distress);
אֲ֝חַלְּצֵ֗הוּ (I will deliver him) וַֽאֲכַבְּדֵֽהוּ׃ (and honor him).
16 אֹ֣רֶךְ (With length) יָ֭מִים (of days) אַשְׂבִּיעֵ֑הוּ (I will satisfy him)
וְ֝אַרְאֵ֗הוּ (and cause him to look) בִּֽישׁוּעָתִֽי׃ (on My salvation).
