The term "secureth" is an archaic form of the verb "secure," which appears in older translations of the Bible. It is used to describe the act of making something safe or ensuring protection. In the context of Scripture, the concept of securing often relates to God's providence, protection, and the assurance of His promises to His people.

Biblical Context and Usage:

1. Divine Protection and Assurance:
The idea of God securing His people is a recurring theme throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, God often promises to protect and secure the Israelites as they follow His commandments. For example, in Deuteronomy 33:12 , it is written, "About Benjamin he said: 'May the beloved of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders.'"

2. Security in God's Promises:
The security that God provides is not merely physical but also spiritual and eternal. The Psalms frequently speak of God as a refuge and fortress. Psalm 91:1-2 states, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, 'You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"

3. New Testament Assurance:
In the New Testament, the concept of security is often linked to salvation and the assurance of eternal life through Jesus Christ. John 10:28-29 emphasizes this security: "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand."

4. Faith and Obedience:
The security that God offers is often contingent upon faith and obedience. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." This passage underscores the importance of trusting in God's wisdom and guidance to secure one's path.

5. Eschatological Security:
The Bible also speaks of ultimate security in the eschatological sense, where believers are assured of their place in the new heaven and new earth. Revelation 21:3-4 provides a vision of this ultimate security: "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.'"

Theological Implications:

The concept of "secureth" in the Bible highlights the reliability and faithfulness of God. It reassures believers of God's constant presence and protection, encouraging them to live in faith and obedience. The security offered by God is comprehensive, covering physical, spiritual, and eternal aspects of life. This assurance is foundational to the Christian faith, providing comfort and hope in the face of life's uncertainties and challenges.
