Biblical Examples

1. Jesus Christ: The ultimate example of humility in leadership is Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:5-8 states, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross." Jesus' life and ministry exemplified servant leadership, as He washed the feet of His disciples (John 13:14-15) and taught that the greatest among His followers must be the servant of all (Mark 10:43-45).

3. Teachability: Humility involves a willingness to learn and grow. Leaders who are humble are open to correction and new insights, understanding that wisdom comes from God and others. James 1:19 encourages believers to be "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger."
