1Again the LORD spoke to Moses, 2“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When either man or woman vows a vow to separate themselves unto the LORD a a Nazirite: 3They shall abstain from wine, strong drink, vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, or any liquor of grapes, or eating moist, or dried grapes. 4As long as they remain under their Nazirite vow, they shall eat nothing that is made of the vine, whether from the kernels or the husk. 5During the entire period of the vow, they must never cut their hair: for they shall be holy, and set apart unto the LORD. 6Throughout the days of separation unto the LORD, the Nazirite shall touch no dead body, 7Even for father, mother, brother, or sister, when they die: because God’s consecration is upon their head. 8 Throughout all the days of separation, they are holy unto the LORD. 9And if someone dies very suddenly in their presence, and thus defiles the hair of their consecration; then they shall shave their head on the seventh day - the day of their cleansing. 10And on the eighth day they shall bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the entrance of the tabernacle of meeting: 11And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for the Nazirite, because he or she was defiled by the dead, and shall hallow his or her head that same day. 12And shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that went before shall be lost, because the days of separation were defiled. 13‘And this is the law of the Nazirite, when the days of separation are fulfilled: he or she shall be brought to the entrance of the tabernacle of meeting: 14And shall offer his or her offering unto the LORD, one male lamb of the first year without defect for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without defect for a sin offering, and one ram without defect for peace offerings, 15And a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings. 16And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer the sin offering, and burnt offering: 17And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall also offer his or her meal offering, and drink offering. 18And the Nazirite shall shave the head of separation at the entrance of the tabernacle of meeting, and shall take the hair of the head of the separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. 19And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazirite, after the hair of their separation is shaven. 20And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that, the Nazirite may drink wine. 21This is the law of the Nazirite who has vowed, and of his or her offering unto the LORD for his or her separation, beside what their hand shall get: according to the vow that was vowed, so they must fulfill the vows according to the Nazarite law of separation.’” 22And the LORD spoke to Moses, 23“Say to Aaron and to his sons, ‘In this way you shall bless the children of Israel, by saying to them, 24“The LORD bless you, and keep you: 25The LORD make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; 26The LORD lift up His face and look upon you, and give you peace.” 27And so they shall put My name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.’” Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser.
