1The word that Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2In the last days, the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall stream to it. 3And many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the Temple of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths.” The law shall go out of Zion; and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4He shall judge between the nations, and shall settle disputes between many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not raise swords against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. 5Come, you descendants of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. 6That is why You have forsaken Your people, descendants of Jacob - because they are filled with superstitions from the east, and are sorcerers like the Philistines, and they make alliances with foreigners. 7Their land is full of silver and gold, nor is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, nor is there any end to the number of their chariots; 8Their land is also polluted with idols; they worship the work of their own hands, what their own fingers have made. 9And both the common man and the men of importance shall be humbled; but do not forgive them. 10Go into the rocks, and hide yourself in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORD, and the splendor of His majesty. 11The haughty looks of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, only the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12The LORD Almighty shall have His day of reckoning upon all who are proud, lofty, and lifted up, who shall be brought low; 13And He shall cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lofty, and all the oaks of Bashan, 14And He shall level all the towering mountains, and all the high hills. 15And He shall break down every high tower, every fortified wall, 16And He shall destroy all the great trading ships of Tarshish, and every stately vessel. 17The arrogance and haughtiness of men shall be humbled; and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 18And the idols He shall utterly abolish. 19And people shall flee into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the ground, for fear of the LORD, and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to violently shake the earth. 20In that day people shall throw their idols of silver and gold, which they made for each other to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21They will flee into the caverns, and the crags of the ragged rocks in fear of the LORD, and the glory of His majesty, when He rises to shake violently the earth. 22Stop trusting in mere man, whose breath is in his nostrils.
