A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been a dwelling place for us, in generation and generation.

In the time before the mountains were brought forth, or You formed the earth and the world, and from forever even to forever, You are God.

You return man to dust and say, “Return, O sons of men!”

For a thousand years in your eyes are like a day past that passes, or a watch in the night.

You sweep them away; they are in their sleep like the grass that sprouts up in the morning.

In the morning it blossoms and flourishes; in the evening it is cut down and withers.

For we are consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are terrified.

You have set our iniquities before You, our hidden things in the light of Your face.

For all our days decline in Your fury; we finish our years as a sigh.
