1 For the one directing. Of the sons of Korah. A Maskil. O God, with our ears we have heard; our fathers have recounted to us the work You did in their days, in the days of old. 2 You, with Your hand, dispossessed the nations, and You planted them; You afflicted the peoples and sent them forth. 3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their sword, and their arm did not bring salvation to them; but it was Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You delighted in them. 4 You are my King, O God; Command deliverances for Jacob. 5 Through You we push back our adversaries; by Your name we trample those rising against us. 6 For not in my bow do I trust, and my sword will not save me. 7 For You have saved us from our adversaries, and those hating us, You have put to shame. 8 In God we have boasted all the day, and we will praise Your name forever. Selah 9 yet You have rejected us and put us to shame, and You do not go forth with our armies. 10 You make us turn back from the adversary, and those hating us have taken plunder for themselves.
