1 Therefore when the Lord knew, the pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And as He must pass through the country of Samaria, He came to a Samaritan city called Sichar, 5 near the piece of ground which Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 And Jacob's well was there. Now Jesus was tired with his journey, and sat down at the well: and it was about the sixth hour of the day, 7 when a woman of Samaria coming to draw water, Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
