1 When Jesus (YHWH saves) realized that the Pharisees were aware He \When therefore Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus/ was gaining and baptizing (submerging) more disciples (pupils) than John (YHWH is gracious) 2 (although it was not Jesus (YHWH saves) who baptized (submerged), but His disciples (pupils)), 3 He left Judea (land of praise) and returned to Galilee (circuit). 4 Now He had to pass through Samaria. 5 So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob (he grasps the heel) had given to his son Joseph (he will add). 6 Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus (YHWH saves), weary from His journey, sat down by the well.
