1 Therefore when Jesus knew that the Pharisees heard that Jesus makes and baptizes more disciples than John— 2 although indeed Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples— 3 He left Judea and went away again into Galilee. 4 And it was necessary for Him to pass through Samaria. 5 Therefore He comes to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 And Jacob’s well was there. Therefore Jesus, wearied from the journey, was thus sitting at the well. The hour was about the sixth. 7 A woman out of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, “Give to Me to drink.” John 4:1-7, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
