1 A revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave to Him to show to His servants what things must quickly come to pass; and He signified [it], having sent through His messenger to His servant John, The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. 3 Blessed is he who is reading, and those hearing the words of the prophecy, and keeping the things written in it, for the time is near! 4 John, to the seven assemblies that [are] in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the Seven Spirits that are before His throne, John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne,
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn out of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth; to Him loving us and having released us from our sins in His blood, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. 6 [He] has also made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him—the glory and the power through the ages of the ages! Amen. and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7 Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all the tribes of the land will wail because of Him. Yes! Amen! Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen. “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him|; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, says the LORD, who is, and who was, and who is coming—the Almighty.” “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
9 I, John, who [am] also your brother, and fellow-partner in the tribulation, and in the kingdom and endurance of Jesus Christ, was in the island that is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ; I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10 I was in the Spirit on the LORD’s Day, and I heard a great voice behind me, as of a trumpet, saying, I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
11 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “Write what you see in a scroll, and send [it] to the seven assemblies that [are] in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.” saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”
12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me, and having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands, Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands, [One] like a Son of Man, clothed to the foot, and having been girded around at the breasts with a golden girdle, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
14 and His head and hairs [were] white, as if white wool—as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire; The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
15 and His feet like to frankincense-colored brass, as having been fired in a furnace, and His voice as a sound of many waters; his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
16 and having seven stars in His right hand, and out of His mouth a sharp two-edged sword is proceeding, and His countenance—as the sun shining in its might. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead, and He placed His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last, When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.
18 and He who is living, and I became dead, and behold, I am living through the ages of the ages. Amen! And I have the keys of Hades and of death. and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
19 Write the things that you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that are about to come after these things; Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this. “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.
20 the secret of the seven stars that you have seen on My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lampstands that you have seen are seven assemblies.” As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
