לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת מַשְׂכִּ֥יל לְדָוִֽד׃ בְּב֣וֹא הַ֭זִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לְשָׁא֑וּל הֲלֹ֥א דָ֝וִ֗ד מִסְתַּתֵּ֥ר עִמָּֽנוּ׃ אֱ֭לֹהִים בְּשִׁמְךָ֣ הוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ֥ תְדִינֵֽנִי׃ | O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. | For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?” Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might. |
אֱ֭לֹהִים שְׁמַ֣ע תְּפִלָּתִ֑י הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינָה לְאִמְרֵי־ פִֽי׃ | O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. | Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. |
כִּ֤י זָרִ֨ים ׀ קָ֤מוּ עָלַ֗י וְֽ֭עָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁ֣וּ נַפְשִׁ֑י לֹ֤א שָׂ֨מוּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים לְנֶגְדָּ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃ | For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah | Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me— people without regard for God. |
הִנֵּ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים עֹזֵ֣ר לִ֑י אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י בְּֽסֹמְכֵ֥י נַפְשִֽׁי׃ | Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. | Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. |
ישוב [יָשִׁ֣יב] (הָ֭רַע) לְשֹׁרְרָ֑י בַּ֝אֲמִתְּךָ֗ הַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ | He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them. | Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them. |
בִּנְדָבָ֥ה אֶזְבְּחָה־ לָּ֑ךְ א֤וֹדֶה שִּׁמְךָ֖ יְהוָ֣ה כִּי־ טֽוֹב׃ | With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O LORD, for it is good. | I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good. |
כִּ֣י מִכָּל־ צָ֭רָה הִצִּילָ֑נִי וּ֝בְאֹיְבַ֗י רָאֲתָ֥ה עֵינִֽי׃ | For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. | You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. |
